Frequently asked questions
For brands
What is Gridline Ads?
Gridline Ads connects brands that want visibility in sim racing with independent iRacing drivers and teams. Brands book a contingent of visibility, we distribute it across many drivers who run the brand’s livery in their races.
What exactly do I pay for?
For viewer hours: for every race your livery took part in, we add up the live Twitch viewers of all streams in that session and multiply by the race time. Your contingent is used up hour by hour, and you see every race in the report.
Why count the viewers of other drivers’ streams?
Because a livery is seen from the outside. A streamer’s own car is mostly shown from the cockpit; the cars around them are on screen all the time. Racing in the same session as a big streamer is therefore often worth more than the streamer’s own livery.
Can I choose cars and series?
Yes. Tell us which cars, series or regions fit your audience – GT3, open-wheel, stock cars or rookie series – and we assign your contingent to drivers who race there.
Do I need to play iRacing to advertise?
No. We take care of drivers, livery files and reporting. If you like, we also design the livery for you.
How quickly can a campaign start?
Usually within a week: the time it takes to finalise the livery and assign it to the first drivers. Larger campaigns may need a little longer.
For drivers & teams
Who can take part?
Anyone with an active iRacing membership who races regularly – in official series or leagues. You don’t need to be fast or famous.
Do I have to stream?
No. Your livery is seen on the streams of the drivers around you. A stream of your own is a bonus, not a requirement.
How is the livery shown in iRacing?
Via Trading Paints, the tool most iRacing drivers already use for custom paint schemes. Other drivers and streamers see your car in the sponsor’s livery.
Why do I connect my iRacing and Twitch accounts?
To confirm that the account is yours and to know which races you drove with the livery. We only read what is needed to value your races.
How do I get paid?
Your share depends on the viewer hours of the races you drove with the livery. Amounts under €50 are paid out as iRacing credit, from €50 we transfer the money to your bank account.
When can I sign up?
Driver registration opens soon. Join the waiting list on the drivers page and we will let you know.
